Download Mosaicus 0.1.0
Mosaicus is free software under the MIT license; its source will be published in the future. Released 2026-10-29.
Mosaicus isn't digitally signed, so Windows and macOS warn you before they open it the first time. Each platform's section below says how to get past the warning. To check that a file is exactly the one published here, compare its SHA-256 with the one listed beside it (the commands are under Checking a download).
Windows
For 64-bit Windows 10 and 11.
The installer
SHA-256 c18493de5e93829f1c9ca64a9531b6ca128be41652a032b97b319a1d49ccbb5bInstalls Mosaicus for your account (no administrator rights needed), with a Start menu entry. Uninstall it from Settings ▸ Apps. If Windows lacks the Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime, which Mosaicus draws its window with, the installer downloads it.
The portable zip
SHA-256 81c2926a63ea93c989568f62c038f410f516f86ab75652a6db844170632c9fafMosaicus.exe on its own, to run from any folder: extract the zip and run it. It needs the WebView2
runtime, which Windows 11 and an up-to-date Windows 10 already have. It keeps its settings in your user profile
like the installed app.
The first time you run it
Windows SmartScreen says Windows protected your PC. Click More info, check that it names
Mosaicus_0.1.0_x64-setup.exe (or Mosaicus.exe) with Unknown publisher, then Run anyway.
SmartScreen asks only the first time.
macOS
SHA-256 113e1d6e1560f8999616616dff4c8fa646cf48b27fdee7e49319322cbae711fcOne app for Apple silicon and Intel Macs, macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later. Open the disk image and drag Mosaicus into your Applications folder.
The first time you open it
The app isn't notarized by Apple, so macOS won't open it with a double-click at first.
- macOS 15 (Sequoia) and later: double-click Mosaicus; macOS says it can't verify it. Click Done, open System Settings ▸ Privacy & Security, scroll down to "Mosaicus" was blocked to protect your Mac and click Open Anyway, then confirm with your password.
- macOS 14 (Sonoma) and earlier: Control-click (or right-click) Mosaicus in Applications, choose Open, then Open again in the message.
After that it opens like any other app. If macOS says instead that the app is damaged and can't be opened, it has kept the download's quarantine mark: in Terminal, run
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Mosaicus.app
Linux
For 64-bit x86 Linux with glibc 2.35 or later: Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12, Fedora 36 or later, Arch and the distributions based on them. Linux has no publisher warning to get past; check the SHA-256 instead.
AppImage: any distribution
SHA-256 786ee9ad69254d0342fa02ccf294b12ceb6ff3e8b86f785c093bece9cc269eb3One file that runs without installing. Make it executable and run it:
chmod +x Mosaicus_0.1.0_amd64.AppImage
./Mosaicus_0.1.0_amd64.AppImage
If it says FUSE is missing, install libfuse2 (libfuse2t64 on Ubuntu 24.04, fuse2 on Arch), or run it with
--appimage-extract-and-run.
Debian and Ubuntu
SHA-256 623b33e56cd2718cb1b44b6493ad5ea7c49e0331a4f640325bdcbfdc0466151esudo apt install ./Mosaicus_0.1.0_amd64.deb
Fedora
SHA-256 3448acab9157233505ff1990ea6302aa43662fbb24806a0739a0d0c85e48ec05sudo dnf install ./Mosaicus-0.1.0-1.x86_64.rpm
Both packages bring in the WebKitGTK libraries Mosaicus needs and add it to your applications menu.
Checking a download
Each file's SHA-256 is listed beside it, and all of them are in SHA256SUMS. Compute the downloaded file's and compare:
- Windows (PowerShell):
Get-FileHash .\Mosaicus_0.1.0_x64-setup.exe - macOS (Terminal):
shasum -a 256 Mosaicus_0.1.0_universal.dmg - Linux: with SHA256SUMS in the same folder,
sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS --ignore-missing
